Nokia 6 price, features, and specifications

The Nokia 6 is a good enough device for a lot of people, but not for everyone. It’s a pity there are few misses here and there that makes it stop short of being an overall well rounded package that one would’ve liked it to be. Nokia 6 smartphone was launched in January 2017. The phone comes with a 5.50-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1080 pixels by 1920 pixels at a PPI of 403 pixels per inch. The Nokia 6 is powered by 1.4GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor processor and it comes with 3GB of RAM. The phone packs 32GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card. As far as the cameras are concerned, the Nokia 6 packs a 16-megapixel primary camera on the rear and a 8-megapixel front shooter for selfies.

Nokia’s primary pitch focused on ‘pure and up-to-date’ Android. With Android 7.1.1. Nougat out of the box, the company promises regular and timely Android updates. And it looks like HMD Global is not slacking off, with updates coming through during my review period. The company has also promised the Android Oreo update for the entire Nokia lineup. One note for the purists: there are custom icons on board. There are also a few pre-loaded apps such as Amazon and the entire suite of Google apps, including Photos, which is the default app for photos on Nokia 6. There’s Google Assistant too.

The phone allows you to perform actions with supported apps by simply long-pressing the icons for launcher shortcuts. As in Android Nougat, there’s a split-screen mode, although the two simultaneous apps can only open as two equal halves only, without the option to resize them. The Nokia 6 is a dual SIM (GSM and GSM) smartphone that accepts Nano-SIM and Nano-SIM. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, NFC, USB OTG, FM, 3G and 4G (with support for Band 40 used by some LTE networks in India). Sensors on the phone include Compass Magnetometer, Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, Ambient light sensor and Gyroscope.

The iPhone 8 Plus look pretty much the same as their predecessors, but they have a new back cover that’s coated in glass and gives them a somewhat fresher look. They have a sort of subtle opalescent effect too, so it’s not just a glossy, shiny, ultra-reflective look. The glass blends into the sides of the phone incredibly well, better than we’ve seen on other phones. There’s a subtle density to the glass, too, and overall it looks a lot better than the back of the 7. iPhone 8 Plus is a new generation of iPhone. Designed with the most durable glass ever in a smartph...

Google Pixel 2 New Flagship Android Phone

With Pixel 2, Google’s made some features that are similar to what competitors have, but it’s done its magpie impression in a smart way. That’s clearest in the improvements Google’s made to Google Lens, its visual search tool, which is similar to Samsung’s Bixby Vision. Google’s applied its search know-how in intriguing ways. Snap a picture of an album cover, and it will offer various useful links, including to YouTube in case you want to hear a track. Taking a picture of a book cover can link you to reviews. That’s arguably more useful than the shopping links or place identifications at which Bixby Vision excels. Google’s also made “Motion Photos,” which seem like an answer to Apple’s moving “Live Photos.” In fact, they seem almost identical, but it’s a nice feature to move over to Android. Not that this phone is totally free of gimmicks. Google has added “Active Edge” to the Pixel 2, which lets you squeeze your phone to activate Google’s voice assistant. It’s not a horrible ide...
